Hi All!
I have wanted a garden for Dylan for so long! I was so pleased this year that we moved into a house with a garden, my aim for the Summer was to try and fill the garden full of toys for Dylan. As we both love being outside he is a very active little boy so prefers to be playing/running around then being inside. I was lucky enough to be sent some garden toys to review and the rest managed to find some bargains.
Dylan and I are now loving playing in the garden together there he has a collection of different toys now so he doesn’t get bored which is great, we can now spend hours out there playing, it also tires him out ready for bedtime wish is what every mother likes. I would say the garden is nearly finished I would love a seating area for the adults for BBQs and for sitting out in the evening having dinner together, of course we need a nice BBQ first. I would also like to a slide to the garden this would be the last toy that would fit in the garden then he pretty much has everything, he loved slides one of his favourite thins to go on at a park.
So far in the garden we have a paddling pool which I picked up from Wilkinson’s for £15 which was a bargain for the price and size! big enough for mummy and Dylan to fit in. A play house which I think is from Argos which was £45 in the sale Dylan has always wanted a playhouse.
There is also a sandpit which Dylan spends hours in! We where lucky enough to be sent the Fatmoose Sandpit Flip, the sandpit was delivered by a courier very quickly, the sandpit is made from very good quality wood so was very heavy, the package came with all the wood and instructors, no holes where drilled in ready so this did mean the sandpit did take longer to build, my partner spent a while doing so! but in the end managed to work out how the sandpit assembled together. So you will need a drill to assemble the sandpit flip as the wood isn’t pre-drilled, theres a lot of specific measurements too which make sure that when fully assemble the lid opens and closes smoothly.
The Fatmoose Sandpit Flip doesn’t have a bottom, you can order the safe sand foil lining which allows water to escape but keeps roots and worms out of the sand, we just placed the lining down and cut down to fit. With the sandpit being so big we needed 5 bags to cover the sandpit well and could probably do with adding some more. The wood is very good quality and has been boiler pressure treated which means it never has to be painted to protect it from the weather. The lid is very clever and can transfer into two seating areas which Dylan loves to sit on whilst playing and having his feet in the sand. The Fatmoose Sandpit Flip is currently on sale for £50.95 there is plenty of information on the website Fatmoose if you would like to read more. They also sell amazing climbing frames if you would are looking to keep children busy.
Lastly we have a Red Star Wigwam which is great for using as a den, my little boy loves playing inside here and hiding. Children love using their imagination and playing games. I was kindly sent the Red Star Wigwam from Great Little Trading Co. which is a children’s website that sells everything you need! Wonderful garden toys and they also sell children’s furniture which looks great! The bed sets also look like good quality, they have amazing ideas for children’s storage which is on my Wishlist as it is perfect for organising bedrooms. The box it came in wasn’t very big so I wasn’t expecting it to be as big as it was, the Wigwam was very easy to put together and didn’t take long. I like how big the Wigwam is plenty of room to play in and I can get in too! also great for other children to be able to fit in also and play together.
The box comes well packaged everything neatly put together, there are poles inside to connect the wigwam together these are what holds it all up, they are brown and designed to look look like wood not poles. I placed the pole in the Wigwam canvas there are thick elastic hooks to hold the poles in place with a large amount of material at the bottom to hold them secure. At the top their are holes in the poles for thick strong string that go through to give the correct distance apart. The canvas is very thick and strong very well made, the Wigwam is designed to be kept indoors or outdoors which I think is great! Ours is currently outdoors as it is big and I think it looks great out there.
There is also a bottom canvas to you keep dry and somewhere to sit and play on which is a good idea, there is also a netted window with a flap so it can be closed to keep flies and water out, which Dylan loves looking out from and knocking on. The Red Star Wigwam is a great toy for children and Dylan has had many hours playing inside here, perfect toy indoor and outdoors for all ages, Wigwam also comes in floral, blue stripe, peach spot and hideout. The measurements are 135cm high, base 183 cm x 183 self assemble required, the ages on the website says 3+ and washing instructions are wipe clean only. The Red Star Wigwam retails at £85 which is a reasonable price for such a good quality well made indoor/outdoor toy.
*What do you think of Dylan’s outdoor toys? What do you have in your garden?
