Intu Potteries SS18 ❤

April 2, 2018

Hi All!

I’m so ready for summer now, who’s with me? The snow is just not practical anymore, the first time it snowed it was amazing after that…meh! I’m dreaming about my summer holidays, and I have already started to browsing online for holidays, I bet I’m not the only one, you might have even booked one already!

I had a lovely day out with the family at Intu potteries, there is so much to do for the family, the shopping centre has made so many changes over the years. We went shopping for a few hours, we then went to Pizza Express for dinner. I would defiantly recommend the lasagne and dough balls they are amazing! We then went to the Cinema just round the corner to watch Peter Rabbit, Popcorn and slush puppies where a big hit! The potteries has so much to do for families and you could easily spend the day there, there is plenty of car parks and shops for everyone!

The Potteries also currently have a flower mannequins in the centre until 6th may, I would go and check this out, they all look brilliant! each mannequin is dressed in flowers in the latest trends this Spring/Summer. They also have a competition on, if you can guess how many flowers have been used on one mannequin you can win a £50 gift voucher to spend in any of the shops.

I noticed that the shops are all full of Spring/Summer wear, the winter sales are also everywhere right now and I have already picked up some key pieces for next winter in the sale. I think now the shops have also changed season this is making me want a holiday even more, I have picked up a lovely jumpsuit in the sale for my first holiday piece.

Whilst I was shopping at the weekend  at Intu Potteries , I  noticed 4 key trends for this Spring/Summer the first one is Lavender there are so many different shades pink lavender, Spring Crocus, Ash Rose and Almost Mauve, I’m a big fan of all of the shades and have noticed I already have a few items in those shades.

The next trend is PINK if you haven’t seen pink in the shops where have you been hiding? as this is a big trend and has been for a while now. The shops are full of pink this is a very easy trend to follow and one that doesn’t need to be expensive.

Metallics is also a trend that is popping up in the shops again, I don’t think this is a trend that really leaves. So this is also a very easy trend to follow and can do this just by a handbag or a pair of shoes. What do you think of the trends at the moment? are there any trends that you love.

I thought I would show you a few of the key items I picked up whilst updating my wardrobe for the new trends this Spring/Summer. I decided to follow the Love lavender trend as you can see I picked up some amazing pieces! Everything I picked is from Topshop so everything is still in store if you fancy a shopping trip!

The bag is lovely and the perfect size! I manage to fit so much into this bag, and I have had so many compliments already. I really like the Gold stud detailing on the bag and the gold chain, the bag looks a lot more expensive then what it is. With the strap and the opening of the bag makes this look very designer, the opening is unlike any other bag I own, very easy to open and shut and keeps everything safe in side. I paid £32 for the bag which is a great price  for a bag of this size, the bag is the pink lavender shade.

The shoes are white converse, I don’t think you can go wrong with converse I pick up a new pair most Summers as there is nothing better then a fresh white pair of converse. They are just so comfortable easy to style! and I’m yet to find an outfit that they don’t go with, they just look perfect in the Summer with a dress. Schuh currently have so many pairs in! I love the new colours they have a pink lavender colour which is so pretty, I love the gold detailing that they have added to the shoes. Most pairs of converse are the same price the white pair is £50

The jeans are also Topshop they are a lighter pair, I think in the Spring/Summer you defiantly need a light pair of jeans they look lovely with sandals and summer tops. The colour I normally get is the light blue bleach effect, the pair I’m wearing in the pictures are the Jamie style from Topshop which are high waisted they retail at £40. I find the jeans to be long wearing and to fit me well.

The blouse is also Topshop which is the Almost Mauve shade, I have seen this blouse all over Instagram lately! so if you want this blouse I would pick one up quick as I know there selling out quick. I have noticed they have started selling more colours now,I think I need the Khaki shade next. The blouse retails at £29 which is a good price for this top, this top can be dressed down for in the day I wore mine with converse, or you can add back jeans and a pair of heels for the evening! I love the buttons on this blouse and the shape.

The Earrings are a trend that have been around a while, The tassels I went for are the smaller pair they did have longer ones. I think the pair I have picked are great if you’re undecided on the trend or not brave enough for the long tassels, as much as I love the trend I think the smaller pair suit my style better. The shade is also Pink Lavender, I picked them up in a pack of 3 similar styles to this pair, they where priced at £8.50 for the 3 pairs.

*What do you think of my outfit? What trend are you currently loving? could you see yourself wearing the pink Lavender trend?

Lots Of Love,

How to take care for your designer jeans ❤

December 8, 2017

Hi All!

How to take care for your designer jeans

Research showed that on average, a woman owns seven pairs of denim jeans! When asked for
reasons why they purchased this type of pant, 56% said it was for their durability and 71% said it was
for their flattering look. So, understandably, we want these qualities to last. Wear and tear is often
inevitable but there are ways to maintain the colour and care for your designer denim. Trilogy
Stores, stockists of designer skinny jeans, have provided us with some handy tips.

When wearing and storing

Denim jeans are a go-to option for completing any outfit at any time of the year! We definitely get
our wear out of them and want them to last as long as possible. There are some things that you can
do to help maintain their flattering shape and fit.
First of all, wear them as much as possible before the first wash. This will help the denim conform to
your body and help preserve them in the shape that you need them. Instead of washing after every
time you wear them as you might with other clothing, denim experts recommend that you wash
your jeans as seldom as possible. Washing too frequently has been known to fade the colour and
damage the denim material. Instead, spot clean with a damp sponge or soft toothbrush to remove
smaller stains. Or, if you feel as though your jeans need a freshen up, hang them outside to air or
spray them with a fabric freshener.
When storing them in your wardrobe, try to avoid hanging them up with clipped hangers. These can
dig into your denim and create impressions in the waistband or in the knees that can be hard to get
rid of. Instead, fold jeans and place on shelves, or buy S hooks which you can attach to the belt loops
and hang on a regular coat hanger.

When washing

The washing technique that you choose can be what causes your jeans to fade and not last as long as
they should.
Turning your jeans inside out is a key tip. It reduces fading and prevents as much colour from
running onto other garments. This method also stops buttons hitting against the drum in the
washing machine and avoids damage to zips or press studs.
Wash on a cool, gentle cycle that is no hotter than 30 degrees. The heat can destroy the elastane
and ruin the fitting shape of your jeans. You can buy a denim wash that has been designed to care
for the colour and fibres in denim, it is non-biological and suitable for washing your favourite pair of
jeans.

Putting too many pairs of jeans in the washing machine at one time can cause damage to the
materials and the machine due to their weight. It is recommended that you wash a maximum of 4
jeans at once. You could also try hand-washing. Although it can be time-consuming, it’s a good way
to avoid damage that could occur in the washer. Simply soak for 20 minutes in detergent and then
air dry.

Make sure that you keep your colours separate too. Don’t put an indigo pair of denim jeans in with a
pastel pair as the colour may run onto the lighter jean. When it comes to coated denim, these jeans
should avoid the washing machine completely — opt for a dry clean instead.
There are some other tips out there, that are a bit out of the ordinary but might be worth a try…
Some suggest freezing the jean when they need freshening up. Simply make sure that pockets are

empty, fold up and place in a plastic bag. Keep them in the freezer until you’re ready to wear them
next. Another recommendation is adding salt and vinegar to a hand wash. This is meant to prevent
colour bleeding and keep the fabric colour set for longer.

When drying

When it comes to drying your designer jeans, you must be careful to not distort the shape of them
or encourage fading.
Definitely do not wring dry. This can cause the shape of the jeans to change and cause wrinkles and
creases that you’ll soon want to get rid of. Instead, roll up the jean and press firmly to release and
excess water. You could hang the jeans up outside and allow to air dry, however some people are
against this as the sunlight can cause fading. Alternatively, you could dry on a flat surface indoors or
use a clothes rack.
Avoid drying on a radiator or in a tumble dryer — the heat from these can do damage to the denim.
For the same reason, avoid ironing your jeans — simply put them on and the creases will fall out on
their own.
A final tip is to read the manufacturer recommendations on the tag. The manufacturer knows the
material the best and how to care for it without causing damage. Follow this advice for long-lasting
jeans that will continue to flatter you.

How to stay fashionable in the workplace ❤

November 28, 2017

Hi All!

How to dress stylishly and suitable for different jobs

Finding a stylish look that suits a job role isn’t easy. While looking the part might feel important, the clothes you wear shouldn’t affect key aspects of the role you do – whether you’re a nurse in a busy hospital and need to make patients feel comfortable, or you’re a waitress in a popular restaurant and need to serve customers quickly.

There are many places you can go to create the right look for where your work, especially online, such as through job clothing sites, like Simon Jersey Healthcare uniforms. But what do you need to think about to look stylish in different roles, while being dressed to suit the job itself? This blog aims to help.

Jobs in beauty and healthcare

As well as feeling physically cool and comfortable enough to do these jobs well, roles in beauty and healthcare are a lot about making the customer or patient feel at ease and comfortable too. Different jobs can put you in people’s personal space, whether you’re busy tending to patients on a demanding hospital ward or performing a massage in a relaxing spa. So your style shouldn’t take over an overall look and detract from making people feel comfortable and in good hands.

A good way to look stylish in these jobs is to choose professional clothing with little eye-catching details. This could include tunics with press studs, or a coloured trim on the collar, neck or sleeves. Other details on tunics or medical dresses, like a one-button style, a v-neck, or asymmetrical trim design can also give a typical beauty and healthcare look an effortless sense of style.

Office and business roles

With roles in business or an office, which aren’t so public facing, there can be the chance to be a bit edgy with your style, depending on the company you work for. But the key here is to be edgy, but dress appropriately enough to be taken seriously by your colleagues and clients. What might not look out of place on the high street, might not make you look so professional in an office. So it’s a good idea to choose neutral colours, like blacks, greys and soft whites, in more striking designs, which limit the amount of skin on display. A good example is a stylish pair of black bootleg trousers with a soft white chiffon round neck blouse.

Another way to add style to the office, while still showing your colleagues and clients that you mean business, is to add a trendy blazer to your work outfit. Modern jackets and blazers can take a look from bland and casual to stylish and sophisticated. Style can be enhanced even more with different jacket designs. A contemporary notch neck, one-button style or Jersey blazer design, for instance, can bring a plainer, simple outfit to life.

Heels always seem a good idea and look great with a work outfit they manage to make you look sophisticated and more powerful. you have to take into account comfort and how long your on your feet for if you’re thinking of wearing heels to work. You also need to think about your safety there are so many accidents at work, falling over on spillages the most common is slipping on wet floor. I think a mid heel would be the best choice not too high and you will still look smart.

Jobs in the service industry and retail

As well as being public-facing, service industry and retail jobs can involve you being on your feet a lot of the time. So whether you’re a waitress, a banker, or a customer service shop assistant, your clothing should look good but still allow you to move.

Tailored designs can be a good choice for clothing that achieves these things. While skinny and slim designs are still very fashionable, they can restrict movement and not feel so comfortable during a long and busy shift serving customers. Tailored styles, however, can look the part while not affecting your movement when you’re on the go. A tailored modern ladies suit, with a well-fitted black top, for example, can be a good option for a business role in a high-street financial services company. Or a wrap dress could create a more feminine look in a stylish restaurant.

Another option in these roles is to think about going heavier on your accessories. Striking jewelry, like pendants and drop necklaces, as well as scarfs, like those in a crepe design, can all bring style and elegance to a more basic, comfortable outfit. Classy belts can also add shape and smarten up a more casual look, like when wrapped around a long, light cardigan. This can enhance your work style while giving you some good movement that’s well-suited to the tasks and chores of a long and busy shift.

*What do you wear for work? Where do you usually buy your work clothes from?

OOTN Backless Ruffle Dress ❤

June 24, 2015

Dress Zaful // Shoes Newlook

Hi All!

Please excuse how WHITE I look in these photos pretty much see through! I’m not this pale not sure why my camera decided to make me look like this. Anyway I wanted to share with you a simple evening outfit look, and a website I have found which sells evening dresses cheap and all look fab! I’m also aware that my grass looks like a jungle oh the shame, I didn’t have time to be cutting the grass and fake tanning before taking pictures sorry..

I love the shade of this dress its bright and girlie, not a material I would buy if I saw this in a shop however as its made out of that scuba type material which isn’t very flattering for my figure shape. The bottom of the dress is designed in a skater style dress which is what dresses I do like to go for, the back is scolloped edges and looked very pretty on the model on the website! however if you are like me and don’t have a toned back or have any back fat at all then stay away! from this dress as its not very flattering on the back, very open and tight fitting didn’t do any justice for my back if I’m honest. I wish I had an amazing back figure for backless dressed but I just don’t, I would suggest going a size up if you buy any of the dresses as they do come up slightly smaller.

This dress retails at $16.89 takes 5/10 business days to ship as it’s coming from China, this dress comes in sizes XS,S,M,L,XL and 2XL, Click Here if you wish to shop the Zaful clothing website. The shade of the dress is whine red showing up a lot more pink then what it is in these photos.

*What do you think of this dress? can you manage to pull off backless dresses?
