Partner’s Guide To Buying Lingerie ❤

February 12, 2018

Hi All!

So valentines day is often a tricky one to get right! most men will go for the easy route of what they see in the card shops and convenient stores i.e chocolates, flowers and teddies. There are some men that will put more thought into the gifts and shop around for the present.

I have never been lucky enough to receive underwear for Valentine’s day, but with the help of John Lewis, my partner managed to pick me the perfect set! John Lewis has put together the simple plan on how to buy underwear for a loved one, doesn’t have to be valentines day to buy  underwear.

My partner followed the below 4 simple steps and he managed to get me the right size! and picked me a lovely set that I would wear. You can buy nice underwear but its great to have a set that you can also wear every day. I think it’s very important to try and get the right size! you really don’t want to be buying her a bigger size then what she is, I think she would prefer you to even buy a size smaller.

I have this gorgeous lingerie set in black from Elle Macpherson Body Zest plunge bra, retails at £36 also comes in a pink shell colour which is defiantly also a colour I often wear. The matching knickers are Elle Macpherson Body Zest lace bikini briefs, retails at £23.

The sizes are true to size and fit perfectly so comfortable and sophisticated, Elle Macpherson isn’t a brand I have had before but defiantly one I will be ordering from again. I love the contrast of colour on the straps at the back, the tassel trim at the front is my favourite, I also really like the lace on the back of the bra.

Step 1

At home: Check surrounding area is clear and locate underwear drawer. Look for bra size which is a number and a letter, e.g. 34C. Remember to also check size of briefs; these usually follow dress sizes, e.g. 8, 10, 12 etc.

Step 2

At home: Consider what she normally wears – best not to go for a completely different style. Instead, push the boat out – perhaps a designer label or luxury line. Familiarise yourself with the brands she buys.

Step 3

At home: Again check coast is clear. Look in wardrobe for recurring colour theme. Lots of light-coloured clothes? Go for white and ivory. Black is good under darker clothing. Pretty and fashionable brights are great alternatives. Red’s a popular choice, but be careful – it’s also the most returned!

Step 4

Online: Access computer, navigate to Lingerie, and search for target either by type of lingerie, colour or by brand. Alternatively, visit a John Lewis shop, and move directly to target destination; Lingerie department. (Take note: you’ll draw a blank in John Lewis at home branches).

*What do you think of the lingerie set I got for Valentines Day? Have you ever received lingerie for Valentines?

Staying In For Valentines Day ❤

February 12, 2018

Hi All!

So what is everyone planning for Valentine’s day? most Valentines evenings we mostly stay in either order a takeaway or cook a nice meal, We are both usually at work in the day. To be honest I have never really been a massive fan of Valentine’s day I believe in making an effort in a relationship and going on dates all year not just on Valentine’s day.

Also no offence but once you have one tatty valentines day teddy you really don’t need anymore, I think the shops are full of tat for Valentine’s day and I don’t have the room for it! I would much rather either not do presents or receive something that I either need or something that would be useful.

I would say flowers are always a winner and you cant go wrong with them, but the other gifts in the shops I’m really not a fan. I think valentines day has been made into such a big event, people end up spending a fortune on expensive gifts and dinners out, I think the day is great for the food business and of course the card shops.

My top tips for staying in this Valentine’s day,

  • A nice meal or a good take out!
  • snacks or have a dessert planned.
  • Pick a good movie or tv series one that you both would agree on.
  • Bring the duvet down or get a comfy blanket with nice cushions.
  • Have nice flowers on the table either real or you can get some great Artificial flowers from Amara that would also be great for Instagram photos!
  • Light candles and set the mood.
  • Either get comfy clothes on or make an effort to dress up.
  • Give each other a massage.
  • Have a pamper night with a bath or face masks.
  • Have a no phone evening, this really would be bliss!

The Below Flowers Cote Noire Roses come in such a pretty box that you can have as a keepsake, they also come with a perfume spray to spray on the roses to make them smell like roses and last longer. The flowers come in Ivory, Blush, Pink. They come in a glass vase and will also look great with a flat lay! And just £40 for such a lovely keepsake, they really fill the room with a lovely scent.

This Sequined Silver cushion from Amara would be perfect for setting the scene for a perfect comfy romantic night in, currently on sale for £17.50 they are out of stock in silver but they still have the same cushion in pink left.

And if you’re still looking for decor ideas for the perfect night in this Valentine’s day take a look at The LuxPad, I love the home decor they have created the pink pillows and candles look perfect on the bedside table.

*What do you think about valentines day? Do you stay in or go out?

Rustlers Burger Challenge ❤

February 11, 2018

Hi All!

So I decided to take part in the Rustlers Hack challenge, I found this meal so quick and easy great for the after school hungry tummies. The burgers come in twin packs which is convenient when feeding more than one, Dylan is a big fan of cucumber and carrot so cut them into chunks to add to the meal, I also added cheese to the burger as you can’t have a burger without cheese.

If you have more time and want to make your burger less healthy you could add bacon extra cheese, different sauces and lettuce, the burgers allow you to be creative and easily add extras. The Rustlers burgers come with sauce sachet Dylan wanted Ketchup so I made a smiley face, I feel making dinner more fun and colourful defiantly gets Dylan more interested and ensures he eats everything!

I find the meal to be very affordable which is great if you have a weekly food shopping allowance, the whole Rustlers collection can be found at your local Tesco store. I would love for you to also get involved in the challenge! would be brilliant to share different tips on how you changed the Rustlers burgers, If you decide to get involved please share using the #RustlersHack hashtag.

Adding a salad to this burger can ensure that they are having a balanced meal, the chicken can be traced back to the farm so I can be assured that the meat is good quality. The chicken is in a southern fried crumb to give extra flavour. The burgers only take 90 seconds in the microwave! pack of two burgers is priced at £2.50.

Have you had Rustlers before? what quick meals do you make?

Buying Wedding Dresses Online ❤

February 4, 2018

Hi All!

After my last post about tips on planning a hen party, I thought this post would be very helpful! I personally have never ordered a wedding dress online as I’m not married but with my latest theme of post about weddings and saving money thought this would be a good place to continue.

I have however ordered a lot of clothes online from lots of different websites and some of them have been all around the world, Many of the items I have ordered have come from China. I think the top tips for online ordering wedding dresses are similar to the tips I would suggest if you buy any clothes online or from a different country.

I have had a look at different online sites and countries to order from, and a lot of people have had them custom wedding dress which is an online website which sells so many dresses from Prom dresses, evening dresses, and bridesmaid dresses.

Here are my tips for ordering online and tips I think would be useful for buying wedding dresses or bridesmaids dresses. A lot of brides have the idea of sipping champagne whilst trying on dresses, this obviously isn’t for everyone and if you’re getting married on a budget going to a shop would cost more.

There are so many stores online that you can have customised dresses made to how you would like the style and fit. There are also websites you can also buy second hand from places like Etsy,eBay also Facebook marketplace is a great option as most of the dresses will be local if you want to save on a dress and don’t have long to wait for the dress to arrive.

  1. Check the fabric of the dress you would like to order online if possible ask for swatches to be sent out. The fabric could look okay online and when you feel the fabric its lower quality.
  2. Make sure you send accurate measurements you also don’t want to be ordering of a simple size guide as they can vary. I’m a size 8 in Next, 10 in Newlook and a size 12 in Topshop sizing can be different depending on the retailer. If you know your weight flutters between a weight or can change, make sure you have room in your sizing for changes to be made if needed.
  3. Take into account your usual style and what normally works best for your figure, there is no point ordering a style of dress you know you won’t like. I would recommend trying on a few styles instore before picking what style to order online. Also same with colour for the dress have a look in your wardrobe at what colour suits you and that you might like to wear. If you would like short sleeves or long sleeves on the wedding dress this would need to be decided early in the planning stage.
  4. Make sure you ask plenty of questions like expected time for the dress to be made, the material and the size guide they use. Any charges you might end up with at customs, postage and packaging cost. If they accept returns if you really don’t like the dress or cant change the dress to suit.
  5. Be aware of how long the dress can take to arrive make sure you leave plenty of time for delivery especially if you might need to change the sizing or if you wanted to add to the dress. There are delays that can happen when coming abroad and customs can take longer to process or add a charge on. I have had a look online and a lot of stores say anything from 6 weeks, which seems like a long time when most of the time we can get next day delivery.
  6. Save some money towards changes or any alterations that might need doing, you might decide to add a strap to the dress or change the pattern. The dress might arrive too long and you might want to take the dress in more at the waist if you measured for extra room.

*Would you order a wedding or prom dress online? have you heard of any experiences of ordering a dress online?

Lots Of Love,
